India is all set to receive the latest desktop processors from Intel after the American chipmaker confirmed the launch of its 13th Gen Raptor Lake series in India. Intel’s new 13th Gen Core processor lineup comprises of 6 brand new processors for desktop computers and the Intel Core i9-13900K processor tops the chart among the newly launched chipsets. It’s not by coincidence that Intel’s announcement comes right after AMD launched their Ryzen 7000 series in India sometime back.
The new Intel processors will be available in India starting from 21 October 2022; however, the company hasn’t released details about the Indian pricing of the latest lineup just yet.
On the specification front, the 13th Gen CPUs make use of the 10nm process which is coupled with the x86 hybrid architecture from Intel. As per their claims, the new CPUs enable 15% better single-threaded performance and a whopping 41% increase in the multi-threaded performance from the 13th Gen chips. In fact, Intel touts the i9-13900K CPU as the world’s fastest desktop processor with a supercharged clock speed of 5.8 GHz on 24 cores and 32 threads.
Intel has also launched the 700 series of their CPUs that come with advanced features and better performance coupled with more reliability. In all, Intel has announced that it will be launching a total of 22 processors in the Raptor Lake lineup and all of them will have backward compatibility with Intel’s 600 series of processors and the newly announced 700 series motherboards. Some of the other interesting chipsets in the lineup are the Core i5-13600KF, the Core i5-13600K, the Core i7-13700KF, the Core i7-13700K and the Corei9-13900KF.
Importantly, the point of difference between the ‘K’ and ‘F’ series processors are only in the graphics department such that the ‘F’ series processors don’t come along with Intel’s UHD Graphics.
