Intel has initiated a partnership with several Indian Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) and Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) to bolster the country’s laptop manufacturing sector. This strategic collaboration underscores Intel’s commitment to sharing technological insights and operational expertise to enhance the local laptop production landscape.
By teaming up with eight leading Indian manufacturing entities, such as Bhagwati Products Ltd, Dixon Technologies India Ltd, Kaynes Technology India Ltd, Optiemus Electronics Ltd, Panache Digilife Ltd, Smile Electronics Ltd, Syrma SGS Technology Ltd, and VVDN Technologies Private Ltd, Intel aims to revolutionize India’s electronics manufacturing ecosystem. This alliance also marks a foray into laptop manufacturing for many of these companies.
Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT, expressed contentment with Intel’s involvement in fortifying the Indian electronics manufacturing sector. The initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to elevate India’s Digital Economy to $1 Trillion and foster significant growth in the electronics manufacturing sector by 2025-26.
Intel’s collaboration focuses on improving the production of entry-level laptops in India, employing cutting-edge Surface Mount Technology (SMT) lines and stringent quality control measures. The company is supporting ODMs through Semi Knocked Down (SKD) and Completely Knocked Down (CKD) processes.

By integrating technology investments and global supply chain expertise, Intel aims to strengthen electronic manufacturing capabilities in India, aligning with the “Make in India” initiative and contributing to the country’s technological advancement.
Additionally, Intel plans to organize the India Tech Ecosystem Summit, showcasing a wider range of locally manufactured devices. The company is committed to advancing India’s tech ecosystem through collaborations with the government, industry partners, and startups, aiming to make a substantial impact on the nation’s progress.
