iPad Air 2 is rumoured to be doubling its RAM than its earlier versions, leaving behind most of the gen-next iOS devices including the iPhone 6. As per Taiwan’s TechNews, which receives reports from its supply chain sources (via iPhone in Canada), the new iPad is set to walk away with 2GB of RAM, which is up from the 1GB found in the current iPad Air.
Although the full-size iPad has clung with 1GB of RAM since the iPad 3, but it now seems to be bracing itself up with the forthcoming tablet. The RAM upgrade could be in readying for a split-screen feature which is already seen in an iOS 8.
New iPads are typically introduced in October, and while more RAM will be a part of the new iPad, the same may not be extended to the iPad mini 3. It is expected to stay at 1GB, as in the current model.
Furthering to this RAM jam, the Apple supply chain sources have introduced a few iWatch details for good measure. According to them, the Apple Watch will be launched with 512MB RAM and 8GB in-built storage. These specifications are in line with the other smartwatches currently sold in the market, such as the Samsung Gear Live and LG G Watch. But the advantage is that the iWatch will be able to function without an iPhone or iPad, the sources cliaim.
Although the claims aren’t official but we would maintain diplomacy on these rumours 9 September, as its not too far.
