Apple’s rumoured iPhone 6, the much-anticipated handset, has again appeared online, this time in a couple of snapshots of purported design schematics and a body mould.
The images of the alleged schematics and mould of the iPhone 6 came from Sina Weibo (via PhoneArena). The images are said to have been sourced by a contract employee working in Foxconn, the firm responsible for manufacturing most of Apple’s products.
One of the images show a big metal block in which the iPhone 6’s body mould has been carved out. From the carving we speculate the handset to arrive with relatively thin body profile and chamfered edges, a design seen in some of the firm’s previous products. Unfortunately, nothing more can be derived from the image.
Two more images show the 3D design of the proposed handset on CAD software, again without any details. Moreover, the legitimacy of the images remains questionable.
Although these images fail to reveal any of the hardware specifications, previous reports say that the iPhone 6 may come with two screen sizes – 5.5-inch and 4.7-inch. Ming Chi Kuo, KGI Securities analyst, mentions that the high-end 5.5-inch iPhone model will boast of a higher screen resolution at 1080×1920 pixels (full-HD), with a pixel density of 401ppi, while the 4.7-inch model is said to pack a lower resolution screen at 750×1334 pixels and will offer a pixel density of 326ppi, very much in-line with earlier reports.
Further, Chi-Kuo claimed both the upcoming iPhone 6 models will pack company’s next-generation A8 chips with 1GB of RAM; low temperature poly-silicon in-cell touch panels and will sport Touch ID fingerprint security. Both iPhone models anticipated to launch this year will come with NFC and metal casing
