Apple is anticipated to unveil its upcoming M3 processor in the near future. This new chip is expected to be integrated into several Apple products, with one of them likely to be the new Mac Mini computer.
According to information shared by Mark Gurman in his latest Power On newsletter, Apple is currently testing a new model identified as 15,12. While it’s not explicitly stated whether it’s a mini model, it’s suggested that this mystery Apple PC will feature both an eight-core CPU and a 10-core CPU. Additionally, it will be equipped with 24GB of RAM and will operate on macOS Sonoma 14.1.
In terms of specifications, this aligns closely with the base model of the M2-powered Mac Mini, although the base model typically offers 8GB of RAM. This suggests that the new Mac Mini could potentially feature either a higher base storage capacity or a variant with greater memory. If these reports are accurate, Apple is actively working on several M3 Macs, including potential models for MacBooks.
Gurman indicated that these M3 Macs could hit the market before the first fiscal quarter of 2024, which corresponds with previous predictions. As of now, it remains uncertain whether Apple is also developing an M3 version of the Mac Pro and Mac Studio. Stay tuned for further updates, as more information becomes available about this product.
