Reliance Jio has launched the Jio Bharat device for Rs. 999 available at an EMI of Rs.123 per month, a feature phone aimed at facilitating the transition from 2G to 4G networks in India. This budget-friendly phone offers a range of features, including a 1.77-inch screen, Jio apps for entertainment and digital payments, a torch, a radio, a 0.3MP camera, expandable storage, and a headphone jack. The primary objective of the Jio Bharat device is to make internet-enabled phones accessible to a broader audience, in line with Reliance Jio’s vision of bridging the digital divide and creating a digitally connected India.
The objective of introducing this mobile phone is to drive forward the company’s “2G-MUKT BHARAT” vision. Reliance Jio has collaborated with Karbonn to launch one of the two models of the Jio Bharat phone. Additionally, Reliance Jio has expressed its plans for other brands to adopt the “Jio Bharat platform” in the near future, leading to the creation of more affordable models through partnerships. In essence, we can anticipate further brand collaborations with Jio to bring forth additional cost-effective phone options.

The first set of Jio Bharat phones, which includes around 1 million units, will go on sale starting July 7, 2023. The company confirmed that the phone will be available at retail stores across the country.
