Lava Mobiles has launched the Iris Pro 30 smartphone in India, priced at Rs. 15,999. The dual-SIM Android 4.2.2-based handset will be available on physical and electronic store shelves from the third week of January.
The Lava Iris Pro 30 features a 4.7-inch HD (1280×720 pixel) IPS OGS display (Sharp LCM500) with a pixel density of 312 ppi, and Corning Gorilla Glass covering. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, coupled with the SGX544 GPU and 1GB of RAM. Lava also mentioned OTA updates for the device, and we wonder if they will actually release an Android 4.3 or 4.4 update for it.
The Iris Pro 30 comes with an 8-megapixel rear BSI sensor camera with dual-LED flash, apart from a 3-megapixel front-facing camera. Built-in storage of 4GB is available, with microSD card expandability up to 32GB. It is powered by a 2,000 mAh battery with CABC (Content Adaptive Backlight Control), that is rated to deliver up to 4.5 hours of talktime, and 400 hours of standby time.
Connectivity features of the Lava Iris Pro 30 include 3G (HSPA+), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, Micro-USB with OTG, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
