After launching most of its smartphones in the country, LG will now launch the G Pad 8.3 tablet for the Indian market. The tablet is likely to be priced below Rs 30,000, and is likely to be launched by the end of this year. The device was showcased at the LG Tech Show 2014.
The G Pad 8.3 is a 20.3-cm (8-inch) tablet with 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA) full HD display. The device is powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor with 2GB of RAM. It further packs in a 4600 mAh battery.
The tab has a 16 GB eMMC and will run on Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 out-of-the-box. The device has a 5 MP rear camera and 1.3 MP front-facing camera. It is 8.33m thick and weighs 338 grams.
The central software highlight of the device is the QPair app. The app ensures that every call and message received on a smartphone will appear on the G Pad. It also lets users send simple replies through the LG G Pad 8.3, allowing G Pad to easily connect with smartphones and tablets from other manufacturers. The G Pad 8.3 also has a Google Play Edition, though so far that’s only limited to US customers.
