Maker of the Line instant messaging app, Naver, on Wednesday introduced a new selfie-focused camera app for iOS dubbed B612.
The B612 app (version 1.0.0) has been released for devices running iOS 7.0 or higher. Naver is asking Android users to ‘wait a little while’ to get their version of the app. The company made announcement on Wednesday detailing that the name of the app was enthused by the name of one of the planets in the novel The Little Prince.
Notably, the B612 app for iOS only uses the front-facing camera of the device. Users can tap anywhere on the screen (with silent shutter feature) to take a photo. The image will not be saved to the device until users tap the Save button at the bottom right corner of the app. The save button sits alongside the sharing option for social networks (namely, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram).
Naver says the B612 app has 43 filters which users can select with a simple swipe on screen. They can also choose to tap the Random button to choose a filter at random. The app also boasts of soft-focusing ability to highlight faces and bodies. Lastly, the B612 app also allows users to easily make a collage with its Collage feature.
Last month, the Japanese firm had launched the Line Selfie Sticker app that turns selfies into stickers. The app is available for Android and iOS for free.
The Line Selfie Sticker app lets users create a funny sticker of their image from over 130 options across 17 different themes. Users can also customise these stickers by adding speech bubbles and can directly share to social networking accounts.
