Marshall Headphones, known worldwide for manufacturing guitar amplifiers, launched the Hanwell and Stanmore portable speakers with Bluetooth connectivity in India on Friday. These speakers will be distributed by Zemax India. The Hanwell is expected to retail at Rs. 63,500, while the Stanmore has been priced at Rs. 35,000.
The limited edition Hanwell, dedicated to the legendary rock icon Jim Marshall, is available in very limited stock, which will not be replenished, the company warns. It adds that the Hanwell is already sold out worldwide. A quick check on the Marshall Headphones website reveals that the speaker in only available in green colour for $1,000 (shipping worldwide). Each Hanwell is branded with a numbered anniversary edition commemorative badge, “as a tribute to Marshall’s 50-year legacy”
Housed inside a wooden cabinet, the Hanwell has a six-inch long-throw twin-woofers and ferrofluid cooled hi-fi twin-tweeters configuration, with a maximum output of 110db. It also has a frequency range of 35Hz-20kHz. With dimensions of 435x193x297mm, the Hanwell weighs 10.5kg. The Hanwell features analog controls for volume, bass and treble and a power switch.
Stanford is considerably smaller with dimensions of 350x185x185mm and a weight of 5.10kg. For connectivity, it has Bluetooth, RCA, 3.5mm and optical inputs. The 200W speaker has a 0.75 inch twin-tweeters plus 5.25 inch woofer combination. Additionally, the frequency response range is 45Hz to 22000Hz. The Hanwell also comes with adjustable bass and treble dials.
