Meta is implementing AI chatbots in various locations

Meta is introducing its AI assistant to WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram, as well as several AI characters inspired by celebrities such as MrBeast and Charli D’Amelio.

This move marks Meta’s entry into the AI chatbot arena, with its assistant capable of various tasks, from aiding in group chats to providing real-time web results via a partnership with Microsoft’s Bing. The assistant can also generate images upon request.

In addition to the assistant, Meta is introducing 28 AI characters in its messaging apps, some of which are based on celebrities, while others are tailored to specific use cases. These characters feature “embodiments” that animate based on the conversation, enhancing the user experience.

Meta has taken precautions to ensure the assistant adheres to safety guidelines and avoids problematic use cases. While not currently trained on public user data, Meta plans to integrate its social platforms into the assistant to enhance its usefulness.

Meta’s extensive user base across messaging apps gives it a significant advantage in the AI chatbot space, potentially making its assistant the first choice for many users.
