An Early Access version of Minecraft is now available for Chromebooks, as announced by Microsoft. The game will come with features such as cross-device play with friends, access to Minecraft Marketplace, and the ability to play on Realms. Here’s everything you need to know about Minecraft on Chromebooks.
What are the requirements for Minecraft on Chromebook
Minecraft, the popular sandbox video game, is now available to try on Chromebooks via an early access version.
To run the game smoothly, the device needs to meet certain minimum requirements, such as operating on ChromeOS 111 and being equipped with a 64-bit (x86_64, arm64-v8a) system architecture – running Intel Celeron N4500, Intel i3-7130U, Mediatek MT8183, Qualcomm SC7180, or better. The game also requires a minimum of 4 GB RAM and 1 GB of storage for the game installation, maps, and other files.
How much does Minecraft costs on Chromebook
If you’re interested in purchasing the early access version of Minecraft for your Chromebook, there are a few different options available to you. The first option is to purchase the Chromebook + Android bundle, which costs $19.99 (around Rs 1,655). This version of Minecraft includes both the Chromebook and Android versions, giving you the flexibility to play on both devices.
Alternatively, you can purchase just the Android version of Minecraft for $6.99 (around Rs 579). This option is ideal if you only plan to play Minecraft on your Android device. However, if you later decide that you want to play on your Chromebook as well, you can upgrade to the Chromebook version for an additional $13.00 (around Rs 1,077).
Unfortunately, if you have been playing Minecraft on a different platform and want to switch to the Chromebook version, you won’t be able to transfer your existing worlds. Similarly, any previous purchases of Minecraft will not transfer over to the Chromebook version, and you’ll need to purchase it separately from the Google Play store.
