It Voice News- While Motorola has started sending invites for an event on September 4 – where it is likely to unveil the successors of the Moto X and Moto G alongside its much-awaited Moto 360 smartwatch and Bluetooth headset – the Moto 360 was briefly listed over the weekend at an online retailer with pricing and other details.
The Moto 360 smartwatch listing, seen on Best Buy’s mobile site, has now been pulled, and was marked by Droid Life. As per the listing, the Moto 360 will be available at a price tag of $249.99 (roughly Rs. 15,250).
The current price tag of the smartwatch goes in-line with an earlier report that suggested that the Moto 360’s approximate retail value was $249. Notably, the two other announced Android Wear (a Google software project that extends Android to wearables) smartwatches are the Samsung Gear Live and LG G Watch, which have been priced at $199 and $229 respectively.
The Best Buy mobile site listing for the Moto 360 smartwatch also revealed a full set of specifications, along with features. The listed specified the Moto 360 will be compatible with devices running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean or higher.
Other Moto 360 specifications listed included a 1.5-inch backlit LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 320×290 pixels and a pixel density of 205ppi. The smartwatch also boasts of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
The Motorola Android Wear smartwatch is also listed as waterproof (up to 3.3 feet for up to 30 minutes). It sports a built-in optical heart rate monitor (PPG); built-in pedometer, and a lithium-ion battery pack (unspecified capacity). Other features of the Moto 360 revealed by the online retailer’s listing reveal Bluetooth 4.0 support; stainless-steel case and plastic case back; voice activation; vibration alert, and a Texas Instruments processor.
Initially introduced in March, the Moto 360 smartwatch running Android Wear was announced to be released in a variety of styles globally in summer 2014, starting in the US.
The other smartwatches running Android Wear – the LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live – were launched at Google’s I/O event, and went on sale in India via Google Play priced at Rs. 14,999 and Rs. 15,900, respectively.
