The most well-known business-oriented computer is probably a laptop from Lenovo’s ThinkPad series. It has undergone numerous design improvements over time and is now available in both a foldable form factor and a conventional laptop design. The ThinkPad style is still present in its boxy shape and durable build quality. On top of that, Lenovo created the ThinkPhone by Motorola, a smartphone with a unique design and a number of privacy and productivity capabilities. The ThinkPhone by Motorola from Lenovo, introduced at CES 2023, is covered in detail here.
The ThinkPhone by Motorola includes a sturdy body made of aramid fibre on the rear, Gorilla Glass Victus protection on the front, and an aircraft-grade aluminium frame, to start with the design. A ThinkPad laptop can be compared to this in terms of fit and finish. Additionally, the phone has an IP68 rating, which indicates it is water and dust resistant. Additionally, the phone has a MIL-STD 810H certification, proving that it has successfully completed numerous demanding testing procedures.
In addition, the Motorola ThinkPhone boasts a 6.6-inch 144Hz FHD+ pOLED display. Lenovo chose the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage to power the device. A 5000mAh battery is also included, which allows rapid charging at up to 68W and wireless charging at up to 15W.
Its camera system consists of a 50MP main camera, a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a depth sensor. The phone has a 32MP camera for selfies. It supports sub-6GHz 5G and is connectivity-ready with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2.
The ThinkPhone from Motorola provides a lot of software capabilities in addition to its excellent hardware that will increase your productivity. Using Instant Connect, you may rapidly connect to your phone and PC. Then, for smooth connectivity between your PC and ThinkPhone, there is support for the Unified Clipboard and Notifications. Additionally, you can use File Drop to transfer files between two devices. Not to add, you can utilise Android apps on your PC directly from your ThinkPhone by opening them there.
Finally, you can utilise the camera on your ThinkPhone as your webcam on a computer, and when the internet on your computer is down, you can use the hotspot on your phone to continue working.
Lenovo and Microsoft also worked together to develop a Walkie-Talkie app that uses Microsoft Teams for immediate communication. To transmit your message using ThinkPhone, simply press the red key. Additionally, it has preinstalled mobile apps for Microsoft 365, Outlook, and Teams.
To protect user privacy through hardware attestation, Lenovo is utilising its ThinkShield security platform for enterprise users. To further secure the phone, Lenovo is using Moto Thread Defence, an AI-based security solution. It enables Zero Touch administration for deployment, and administrators can remotely monitor every security and privacy feature. The good news is that ThinkPhone by Motorola includes a separate Moto KeySafe processor that securely saves private information like PINs, passwords, cryptographic keys, etc.
At CES 2023, Lenovo displayed the Motorola ThinkPhone and said that it would soon be available in the US, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Australia, and a few countries in Asia. Lenovo has not yet provided any information regarding the price of the ThinkPhone.
