MSI brings out its exclusive gaming laptop in India, the GS60 Ghost Pro, which it claims to be the ‘thinnest gaming notebook’ ever. The laptop is currently up for pre-order exclusively via e-commerce website, Flipkart. The official starting price is Rs. 129,900 though Flipkart is offering the base model at Rs. 116,235.
The GS60 Ghost Pro series features a special list of high-end specifications with a black magnesium-alloy chassis. It is available in three different configurations, GS60 2PE Ghost Pro, GS60 2PC Ghost and GS60 2PL Ghost. The biggest difference between three of them is the dedicated graphic card.
The GS60 2PE Ghost Pro features Nvidia Geforce GTX870M/ GDDR5 3GB GPU. The GS60 2PC Ghost features Nvidia Geforce GTX860M/ GDDR5 2GB GPU and the GS60 2PL Ghost features an Nvidia Geforce GTX850M/ DDR3 2GB GPU. The Ghost Pro series runs Windows 8.1, and sports 39.62-cm (15.6-inch) full HD, anti-glare wide viewing angle screen (1080×1920 pixels). Powered with a fourth generation 2.5 GHz quad-core intel core i7-4710HQ processor (8 threads, 3.5GHz Turbo frequency, 6 MB cache).
It features 16 GB of 1600MHz DDR3L RAM on the top-end in GS60 2PE Ghost Pro variant and 8GB of 1600 MHz DDR3L RAM in the other two. The laptop features full HD webcam, a full-colour backlit Steel Series keyboard, 128GB SSD and comes with 1TB7200RPM HDD with the top-end variant.
It also supports 4x2W Dynaudio speakers with 7.1 channel, SPDIF output and Creative Sound Blaster Cinema 2. For the connectivity purpose, the series include 3xUSB 3.0 ports, 1xHDMI port, 2-in 1 card reader, microphone port, Bluetooth 4.0 options and Wi-Fi 802.11 ac. The laptop weighs 1.9 kgs and measures 390×266.7×19.9mm. It packs 6 – cell Li-Po battery which can provide up to 3 hours of battery backup.
