The smartphone market is getting flooded with Alcatel One Touch launches, that come at an affordable price range.
Alcatel Launches 4 New Smartphones In Indian Market-Hero and Idol-series smartphones. The models were launched at a press event in Mumbai. Hong Kong-based Alacatel One Touch has released Hero, One Touch Idol X, One Touch Idol S and One Touch Idol mini smartphones.
All these phones were announced last year and Idol X is quite an old one now. Its successor, Idol X+, has also been launched by the company. Alcatel OT Hero features 15.24-cm (6-inch) full HD display, 2GB RAM, 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 13MP rear camera, 8/16GB internal storage, microSD card slot and 3400 mAh battery. The phone runs on Android 4.2 version and it will be sold at Rs 30,000 in India.
Other ones like Idol X has 12.5-cm (5-inch) 1080p full HD edge-to-edge display, 13MP rear camera, 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor and 2000 mAh battery while Idol S sports 11.94-cm (4.7-inch) 720p HD display, 8MP rear camera, 1.3MP front camera, 1GB RAM and 4GB internal storage. Idol Mini has 10.92-cm (4.3-inch) FWVGA display, 5MP rear camera, VGA front camera, 512MB RAM, and 4GB internal storage.
Steven Zhao, country manager for the India business unit, said, “We are delighted to launch our series of smartphones specially designed to cater to the demands of the Indian customers. ALCATEL ONE TOUCH brings a great value product by redefining user experience with its innovative design, display and technology.” He added further, “There is a huge demand for smartphones in India and the company is targeting teenagers and youths. The company hopes to sell 5,00,000 pieces of smartphones by December 2014.” The exact price ranges of the Idol series have not been unveiled but it has been stated that pricing will start at Rs 10,000.
