Jaipur, August 18, 2014: Norton by Symantec has launched the ‘Security on Wheels’ campaign, an initiative intended to promote online safety among Indian consumers. As part of this initiative, a customized Norton Van will be visiting 13 cities across North India over 41 days. The Norton van has reached Jaipur today and will be seen around various educational institutions and public hotspots to interact with consumers and educate them about staying safe online.
Ritesh Chopra, Country Manager, Norton by Symantec said, “While Indian consumers are getting more internet and smartphone savvy, their online habits do not indicate an increase in their security awareness levels. According to the Norton Report 2013, 62 percent of online adults have been victims of cybercrime and or negative online situation last year. With the ‘Security on Wheels’ initiative, we wish to connect with the Indian consumers, educate them on the changing threat landscape and empower them to keep their information safe.”
In conjunction with this initiative, Norton will be running a ‘Spot the Van’ contest, encouraging onlookers to take pictures of the van, post these pictures on the Norton Facebook page and win gift vouchers upon receiving maximum likes in that city. Additionally, consumers can also avail a free 1 year subscription of Norton Mobile Security along with the purchase of Norton Internet Security 1 User 1 PC 1 Year Retail Box or Norton 360 1 User 1 PC 1 Year Retail Box for a limited period.
