Nothing, the technology company founded by Carl Pei, is set to launch its second smartphone, the Phone (2), on July 11. Teasers and press renders of the upcoming phone have been unveiled, providing a comprehensive view of its design.
The leaked images showcase a slightly curved back, an updated Glyph Interface with 11 segmented LED strips and 33 lighting zones (compared to 5 LED strips and 12 zones in the previous model), and a new grey color option.
The improved Glyph Interface allows for more precise control and offers new use cases. The phone features a power button on the right side and volume rockers on the left, with antenna bands integrated into its aluminum frame.
On the front, minimal bezels surround the display, and a centered punch-hole cutout is visible. The renders also reveal various themes for each color variant and multiple widgets.
According to Carl Pei, the Phone (2) will offer a more high-end experience compared to its predecessor.
It will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, an upgrade from the Snapdragon 778G+ used in the first model. The phone will run on Nothing OS 2.0, which incorporates the best features of Android to enhance accessibility and efficiency for users.
The Phone (2) will boast several improvements, including a slightly larger display with an increase of 0.15 inches compared to the Phone (1). It will also feature a larger battery with a capacity of 4700mAh, offering an additional 200mAh compared to the previous model. Notably, the Phone (2) aims to have a lower carbon footprint than its predecessor.
Manufacturing of the Phone (2) will take place in India, and the device will be exclusively available for purchase through Flipkart in the country.
