Soon after HTC, Nvidia has announced that the Android L update will be rolled out to its Tegra Note 7 tablets, which is available in India as the Xolo Play Tegra Note.
The chipmaker confirmed the news to Fudzilla, and added that the Tegra Note 7 tablets will receive the update as soon as Google makes it publicly available. As of now, there is no specific time frame for the Android L update for Nvidia Tegra Note 7 tablets.
Notably, the Tegra Note 7 tablet in India is marketed by the company’s partner Xolo and is dubbed Xolo Play Tegra Note. It is based on Nvidia’s Tegra Note reference design.
The Xolo Play Tegra Note (Review | Pictures) Wi-Fi only tablet was launched last year with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean; however an over-the-air (OTA) update – Android 4.3 and Android 4.4 KitKat were available directly from Nvidia.
For those unaware, the Tegra Note was created by Nvidia as a reference platform to show off the power of its Tegra 4 ARM processor. Just like Nvidia creates reference graphics cards based around its graphics processors and allows all its partners to simply duplicate and put their own stickers on them, multiple brands, including Xolo, around the world have simply licensed the Tegra Note design.
Recently, HTC announced the Android L update for its 2013 flagship, HTC One, also referred to as the One (M7), and its new flagship, the HTC One (M8).
Soon after the I/O event, Google released the Android L Developer Preview for developers, apart from the system images for Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 (2013) devices.
