Nvidia, the U.S. chipmaker, along with its employees, has contributed a total of $15 million to various Israeli and international non-profit organizations aiding civilians affected by the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas. The donation was facilitated through a special program introduced by Nvidia, where thousands of employees from over 30 countries collectively donated $5 million. Nvidia then matched and doubled this amount, bringing the total contribution to $15 million. This initiative marks the largest humanitarian fundraiser in Nvidia’s 30-year history.
The employees chose to support organizations in the region, including Asor Fund (JGive), American Friends of Magen David Adom, Doctors Without Borders, Friends of United Hatzalah, IsraAID (US) Global Humanitarian Assistance, Jewish Agency for Israel, World Central Kitchen, and Zaka. The donations aim to assist civilians affected by the conflict and provide support to various humanitarian efforts in the region.
The deputy general counsel of Nvidia, Gideon Rosenberg, expressed gratitude for the widespread support from Nvidia employees worldwide. He mentioned the company’s pride in the solidarity shown by its employees, emphasizing their hopes for the safe return of their colleague, Avinatan Or, who was captured by Hamas along with his girlfriend and others during the Nova music festival on October 7. Or, a 30-year-old engineer at Nvidia since April 2022, remains in captivity, while some of the other hostages have been released.
In addition to the financial contribution, Nvidia has also provided practical assistance, donating hundreds of computers to families evacuated from the north and south of Israel. The company further supported the affected communities by offering thousands of hot meals from its Yokneam office cafeteria.
Nvidia’s involvement in supporting humanitarian efforts in the context of the Israel-Hamas conflict underscores the company’s commitment to social responsibility and aiding communities in times of crisis. The significant donation reflects the collective generosity and empathy of Nvidia’s global workforce toward those impacted by the conflict.
