After Xiaomi & Oppo, OnePlus All Set To Enter India. If the international price is to be gone by, then the 16GB could retail for under Rs 20,000 in India and pitched directly against the recently launched Xiaomi Mi 3.
Looks like it’s a Chinese outburst of sorts in the Indian market. With companies like Xiaomi and Oppo entering the Indian smartphone market lately and receiving a gigantic response from this highly competitive market, other companies are also now looking to make inroads here. Next in line is Chinese smartphone startup, OnePlus that is planning to launch its first and only smartphone, the One in India very soon. There is however no definite news regarding pricing and availability of the device as of now.
The OnePlus One is quite the looker of a device on the specifications front. It features a 13.97-cm (5.5-inch) IPS LCD display with a 1080×1920 pixel resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with Adreno 330 GPU coupled with 3GB of RAM. The device runs CyanogenMod 11S, a customised OS based on Android 4.4 KitKat. It sports a 13MP rear IMX214 sensor camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. The device will not support any expandable storage. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, and NFC. It decks in a 3100mAh non-removable battery.
The OnePlus One is currently available at an introductory price of $299 (unlocked, without contract) for the 16GB model (roughly Rs 18,300). The 64GB variant will be available at $349 (roughly Rs 21,350). If the international price is to be gone by, then the 16GB could retail for under Rs 20,000 in India and pitched directly against the recently launched Xiaomi Mi 3.
