OnePlus is preparing to expand its budget-friendly Nord lineup by introducing new devices at the OnePlus Nord Summer Launch Event scheduled for July 5. Following the launch of the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G earlier this year, the Chinese smartphone maker, led by Pete Lau, plans to add two new smartphones to its affordable Nord series. The upcoming event will unveil the OnePlus Nord 3, OnePlus Nord CE 3 smartphones, and the OnePlus Nord Buds 2R earbuds. The launch event will be live-streamed on OnePlus’ official YouTube channel at 7 pm IST.
OnePlus has created a microsite teasing the design and key specifications of the OnePlus Nord 3 ahead of the event. The company has confirmed that the OnePlus Nord 3 5G will come in two color variants: Tempest Gray and Misty Green. Additionally, OnePlus is reintroducing the Alert Slider, a feature found in its flagship smartphones, to the Nord series.
According to the teaser, the OnePlus Nord 3 5G will feature a flat 6.74-inch Super Fluid display with slim bezels. The display will support a 120Hz refresh rate and a 1000Hz Touch Sampling rate.
The OnePlus Nord 3 5G is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset. In comparison, the previous year’s Nord 2T 5G smartphone featured the Dimensity 1300 SoC.
The OnePlus Nord 3 5G smartphone will come equipped with a triple rear camera setup, featuring a 50MP Sony IMX890 primary sensor. This same sensor is also found in the flagship OnePlus 11 5G smartphone. The device will support optical image stabilization (OIS) technology, which helps in capturing stable and shake-free photos and videos.
Additionally, the OnePlus Nord 3 5G will incorporate OnePlus’ proprietary photography algorithms, similar to those found in the OnePlus 11. These algorithms are designed to enhance the camera’s performance and deliver improved output in various lighting conditions, ensuring high-quality photos and a better photography experience.
