Oplus has launched the XonPhone 5 smartphone in India at Rs. 7,999. The smartphone will be exclusively available on Snapdeal starting Thursday. Oplus India, a subsidiary of Oplus Taiwan, had launched the XonPad 7 tablet in January.
The Oplus XonPhone 5 runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box. It offers dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) support, with one Micro-SIM one regular-SIM card slot. It features a 5-inch IPS display with HD (720×1280 pixels) resolution, translating to a pixel density of 320ppi.
A quad-core MediaTek (MT6582) processor powers the smartphone, clocked at 1.3GHz, coupled with 1GB of RAM. The XonPhone 5 sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, while there is a 2-megapixel front-facing camera also onboard.
It comes with 16GB inbuilt storage, and can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. The XonPhone 5 supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, AGPS, EDGE, GPRS and 3G connectivity options. It is backed by a 2000mAh battery with no word on talk time and standby time.
The XonPhone 5 measures 143×71.5×7.8mm and weighs 170 grams. The smartphone is currently listed as available in Gold, Grey and Sliver colours.

The Oplus XonPad 7, priced at Rs. 9,990, was also launched in partnership with Snapdeal.
It comes with SIM functionality, supporting voice-calling; features 7-inch display (1280×800 pixels); 1.2GHz quad-core Cortex A7 processor; 1GB of RAM; 5-megapixel rear camera; 2-megapixel front-facing camera; 16GB inbuilt storage (expandable up to 32GB via microSD card), and a 3500mAh battery.
