Oppo has silently unveiled a new set of neckband-style earphones in China, officially known as the Oppo Enco M33. This model serves as the successor to last year’s Oppo Enco M32.
In contrast to the M32, which was a step down from the 2020 M31, the new M33 appears to be an enhancement over its predecessor, at least on paper. Resembling the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z2 in design, the Enco M33 does not feature winged ear tips like the M32.
The earbuds house larger 12.4mm drivers that promise Hi-Fi sound quality. However, it’s important to note that these earphones lack Hi-Res Audio certification and support for codecs like LDAC.
Despite this, the earbuds boast larger drivers compared to the 10mm ones in the previous model. Notably, the Enco M33 introduces up to 45dB of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), a first for this series. Additionally, the earphones offer AI-powered Environmental Noise Cancellation for enhanced call quality.
Featuring an IP55 rating, the Enco M33 is resistant to splashes, making it suitable for workouts and light rain conditions. These earphones utilize Bluetooth 5.2 for connectivity and allow seamless pairing with devices running ColorOS, including Realme UI and OxygenOS.
The earbuds come with magnets that enable pause/play functionality and quick call answering. The inline remote control provides music playback controls as well as power and pairing options. The package includes three different-sized ear tips and a USB Type-A to Type-C cable.
The Oppo Enco M33 can last up to 28 hours on a full charge without ANC, at 50% volume. However, with active noise cancellation activated, the battery life is reduced to 20 hours. Impressively, even a 10-minute charge can provide up to 20 hours of battery life without ANC at 50% volume.
The price of the Oppo Enco M33 is set at ¥249 (~$35) in China, and it is offered in Obsidian Black and Cangling Green color variants. Currently available for pre-order in the Chinese market, it is expected to launch in other regions similar to its predecessor.
