Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), the Government of India is implementing “CHUNAUTI 2.0 under Next Generation Incubation Scheme (NGIS). The NGIS scheme has been formulated and conceptualized to boost the local start-up ecosystem working in 12 tier-II/tier-III locations across India and Jaipur has been selected as one of the locations. CHUNAUTI 2.0”, Enabling Women Entrepreneurs to Co-author the Innovation Growth Story of India was launched on 6th August 2021.
“We are the richest country in the world for unsolved problems. Emerging technologies like Data Analytics, Blockchain, AI, AR & VR have the ability to solve problems. We are witnessing an interesting shift in the Indian IT industry recently. Most of the companies are shifting from services to developing products and software,” cited Shri Ajay Prakash Sawhney, Secretary, MeitY, Govt. of India at the launch of CHUNAUTI 2.0.
“CHUNAUTI 2.0 is dedicated to the women entrepreneurs. After the overwhelming success in the first edition, STPI went further to make the tech entrepreneurial ecosystem more gender-inclusive. The women entrepreneurs who will be selected through the CHUNAUTI 2.0 will be benefitted by the robust collaborative CoE ecosystem that STPI created across the country,” emphasized Dr. Omkar Rai, DG, STPI at the launch of CHUNAUTI2.0 as keynote speaker.
Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) Jaipur organized an outreach webinar on Thursday, 26th of August, 2021 for the Next-generation Incubation Scheme (NGIS) CHUNAUTI 2.0 start-up challenge focussing on women entrepreneurs. In the outreach program Dr. Devesh Tyagi, Senior Director, STPI, Dr. Ajay Data, Managing Director, Data group of Industries & Chief Mentor-NGIS Jaipur, Shri Subramaniam S.R, Scientist ‘F’, STPI-Noida, Shri Mahavir Sharma, Chair, TiE India Angels, Ms Neeta Boochra, Chairperson, Neeta Boochra Jewellery, Founder Chairperson FICCI FLO, Jaipur, Ms. Sheenu Jhawar, Director on the Board of Apex Hospitals, Shri Avadhesh Kumar, Additional Director & Officer-In-Charge, STPI Jaipur shared their thought and highlighted the advantage of the scheme for the benefit of the participants and the programme was moderated by Shri O P Mathur, Deputy Director, STPI Jaipur.
In his keynote address Dr Devesh Tyagi, Senior Director, STPI cited that “there are two ways to solve any problem one is Divergent and other is Convergent, in divergent we take a different idea from different people, shortlist the idea and get the final idea whereas in the convergent method we take the solutions and then take ideas from different people to improve those solutions.”
Dr. Ajay data MD, Data Group of Industries & Chief Mentor-NGIS Jaipur stated “too much of analysis is paralysis and you have to believe on your gut feeling and go for it “.
Shri Subramaniam S.R, Scientist-“F”, STPI-Noida elaborated on NGIS & Chunauti 2.0 with other schemes of STPI and about the benefits to start-ups at Jaipur location.
Shri Mahavir Sharma, Chair TiE India Angels, stated that “every woman or every women co-founder must have been encouraged.”
Ms Neeta Boochra, Chairperson, Neeta Boochra Jewellery, Founder Chairperson FICCI FLO stated that practising three A’s are very important i.e. Appreciation, Accepting and Adjust, it will give life-changing results.”
Ms. Sheenu Jhawar, Director on the Board of Apex Hospitals expressed her valuable thoughts on women entrepreneurs & start-ups.
Shri Avadhesh Kumar, Additional Director & Officer-In-Charge, STPI Jaipur highlighted the benefits of the NGIS & CHUNAUTI 2.0 scheme for the participants as to how to apply and what is the advantage for them.
Financial Incentives/Funding Support is available under the scheme. A seed funding of up to Rs. 25.00 Lakhs will be provided through Financial Institution to each beneficiary/supported start-ups selected through CHUNAUTI under NGIS based on innovative ideas, novel solutions, strong team & sound business proposal.
Start-ups who are in the ideation stage may be selected under the pre-incubation programme & mentored for up to six months to evolve their business plan & solution around the proposed idea. Each intern (start-up under pre-incubation) will be paid Rs. 10,000/- per month for a period of up to 6 months.

STPI under CHUNAUTI 2.0 is looking for start-ups based in non-metro cities with innovative ideas, products, or solutions in domains like fintech, healthcare and wellness, education and skill enhancement, eCommerce, enterprise software, environment, e-governance solutions, tourism and hospitality, agriculture, cyber security, assistive technology for persons with disabilities, and beyond.
STPI through CHUNAUTI 2.0 is looking to identify and support promising start-ups with a special focus on women-led start-ups working on innovative technology products & solutions in focus sectors like FinTech, HealthTech, EdTech, E-Commerce, SaaS, Environmental technologies, E-governance Solutions, Tourism & Hospitality technologies, AgriTech, Cybersecurity, Assistive Technology and any other tech-aided product/solution which caters to one or more of the domains or focus areas mentioned above.
