Motorola’s cheapest budget Android smartphone, Moto E, has reportedly been sold over 2.85 lakh times in the country. The device, which was launched just over a month ago, has already surpassed its cousin Moto G, which was the company’s previous best selling smartphone. At a price tag of Rs 6,999, the Moto E offers features that are usually not seen in the budget segment. It is available exclusively on Flipkart and has gone out of stock on at least a dozen occasions.
The Moto E had started selling on May 14 and went out of stock only 16 hours after the launch. From there on, the device has been going in and out of stock repeatedly. It is available in Black and White colours, with the option to purchase a number of removable backs.
The Moto E 10.9-cm (4.3-inch) display along with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 dual core processor and 1GB of RAM. It also has dual-SIM capabilities and sports a 5 mega pixel rear camera, however there’s no front camera. This is a budget Android device that provides perhaps the best value for money alongside the Moto G smartphone.
In comparison to the Moto E, Motorola’s earlier successful devices, the Moto G, has been sold 1.39 lakh times. This means that the cheaper variant has already done double the business.
