Panasonic is all set to launch its Eluga series of smartphones in India. The company has been teasing the Eluga series for a while and now it has finally sent out invites for the event scheduled on Wednesday, July 30.
The Eluga series of smartphones were first introduced by the company in 2012 before being discontinued. Panasonic had launched the Eluga DL1 and the Eluga Power for the European market. It seems the company is looking to revive the series with the India launch. Panasonic in its invite describes the Eluga series as “Elegance for a new generation”, but we don’t know what segment the company will be targeting with new range of smartphones, or indeed the exact phones that the company will unveil.
So far Panasonic has been actively launching the P and T series of smartphones in India. Last week, the company had launched three dual-SIM smartphones Panasonic T41, Panasonic P41 and Panasonic P61 running Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS. The devices are priced at Rs. 7,990, Rs. 11,990 and Rs. 14,990 respectively.
All three smartphones are powered by an unspecified quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz.
The Panasonic T41 comes with by a 4.5-inch IPS display with FWVGA (480×854 pixels) resolution. The smartphone runs on 512MB RAM and 4GB inbuilt storage with expandability option up to 32GB via microSD card. The Panasonic P41 houses a 5-inch IPS display with qHD (540×960 pixels) resolution. It comes with 1GB of RAM alongside 8GB of inbuilt storage with expandability option up to 32GB via microSD card. Finally, the Panasonic P61 features a 6-inch IPS display with HD (720×1280 pixels) resolution. The smartphone comes with 1GB of RAM, 16GB of inbuilt storage with expandability option up to 32GB via microSD card.
