The Evnia 34-inch curved gaming monitor from Philips, featuring a 165Hz refresh rate and a WQHD resolution, was introduced last week. The Philips 27B1U7903 is a brand-new, high-end professional monitor that the business has just released.
The 27-inch 4K Philips 27B1U7903 display features Mini LED backlighting and Thunderbolt 4 connectivity. The manufacturer bills the Philips 27B1U7903 as having “the most local dimming zones in a 27-inch monitor” due to its 2,304 dimming zones. 576 zones are included in the majority of IPS monitors.
The Philips 27B1U7903 achieves a maximum brightness of 1,400 cd/m2 and a typical contrast ratio of 1,300:1 when viewing HDR content. The monitor reportedly achieves 1,000 cd/m2 when viewing images.
Furthermore, the DisplayHDR 1400 certification of the Philips 27B1U7903 guarantees that at least 95.6% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut is covered. The monitor shall provide 99.2% Adobe RGB coverage in addition to exceeding this specification by covering 97.2% of DCI-P3.
As a professional display, the Philips 27B1U7903 does not offer high refresh rates or rapid response times. The monitor’s top rates are instead 60 Hz and 4 ms (GtG). Similar to this, Philips has only provided DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 connectors, and a single Thunderbolt 4 port may provide a connected device with 90 W of power in addition to data, upstream, and video. The display also offers four USB 3.2 Type-A ports, Gigabit Ethernet, and a 3.5 mm connector.
