In early February, two new smartphones from Poco were announced for global markets: the Poco X5 and the Poco X5 Pro. However, only the latter had been released in India up until recently. Fortunately, this is about to change soon. Poco’s Indian branch has confirmed that the standard Poco X5 will also be available in India starting on March 14th. The launch is scheduled to take place on Flipkart at 12 PM local time.
The Poco X5 features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Under the hood, it is powered by the Snapdragon 695 processor and comes with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of expandable storage. The device also sports a triple rear camera setup, consisting of a 48 MP primary sensor, an 8 MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2 MP macro sensor. On the front, there is a 13 MP selfie camera. The Poco X5 is equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 33W wired charging. The smartphone runs Android 12 with MIUI 13 on top, which some may find disappointing.
Overall, the Poco X5 seems to be a solid mid-range smartphone that offers a high refresh rate display, good camera setup, and ample storage capacity. Its availability in India will give consumers more options to choose from when looking for a new device.
