This feature enables followers of his channel to engage in direct communication and stay updated on WhatsApp with the Prime Minister’s regular messages. Meta introduced this new feature in India on September 13th, along with its availability in over 150 other countries.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg also embraced the launch of WhatsApp Channels by creating his own channel for sharing Meta news and updates. WhatsApp Channels operates as a one-way broadcast system, offering a private means for individuals and organizations to share updates directly within the WhatsApp platform.
WhatsApp’s objective with Channels is to establish the most private broadcasting service in the market. Smartphone users can access channels through the “Updates” tab, which is integrated into the status tab. Users can discover channels to follow or create their own channels. Interaction in a channel post is limited to emojis, and the reactions are private, ensuring user anonymity.
