“My family will be with me when they can, although this is not always easy as my youngest child is finishing high school on one continent, my eldest is in college on another and my wife Nina is an entrepreneur.Despite these challenges, my family has and will always be, the centre of my life,” said Suri in an email to employees.
Outside of work, Suri is a cricket buff batting for Team India. “While the fact that my preferred cricket team comes from India may say something about my roots, I now have friends,family and colleagues in many, many countries. As a result, I tend to focus more on people than on place,” he said.
Suri sees Nokia’s three strong businesses – Networks, HERE (maps), and Technologies – linked by a common vision of how the world of technology will evolve. Technologies can lead Nokia into new product areas and business models, he added.
