The GT Neo 5 from Realme was just released, and thanks to its 240W fast charging, it is now the market-leading smartphone. Both models of the GT Neo 5 feature the distinctive glowing rectangle on the rear and a 150W charging option with a little larger battery.
The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset powering the Realme GT Neo 5 is used. The 240W model comes with 16GB RAM and 256GB or 1TB of storage. The GT Neo 5 150W is available with 256GB of storage and either 8GB, 12GB, or 16GB of RAM. The 6.74″ 10-bit AMOLED screen on the phone has a 144Hz refresh rate. The display has a resolution of 2772 × 1240 pixels, 100% DCI-P3 coverage, and a touch sampling rate of 1,500 Hz.
In the retail packaging, the Realme GT Neo 5 240W includes a 20V/12A adaptor and a 4,600mAh battery. The retail box for the 150W model includes a 5,000mAh battery and a 20V/8A adaptor. The GT Neo 5 can be charged to 20% in 80 seconds, to 50% in 4 minutes, and to 100% in under 10 minutes with the 240W adaptor. According to the business, just 30 seconds of chat time on the wire might last up to 2 hours.
The phone is also compatible with older VOOC and SuperVOOC chargers, which can also supply the smartphone with their full power via the USB-C connector.
The 50MP 1/1.56″ Sony IMX890 sensor, OIS, and 6P lens with an f/1.9 aperture are found in the main camera on the back of the device. Additionally, there is a 2MP macro camera and an 8MP ultrawide camera with a 112-degree field of view. The selfie camera is housed in a centred punch hole at the top of the screen and sports a 16MP Samsung sensor.
A vapour chamber and many layers of graphite are included in the Realme GT Neo 5’s eight-part cooling system for heat dissipation. Fast charging can be taxing on the device as well, but Realme received a TUV Rheinland certification attesting to its safety.
During charging testing in the Realme Lab, it was discovered that the phone only reaches a maximum temperature of 10 degrees C and can endure 1,600 charges from 0% to 100% while retaining 80% of its capacity, which equates to more than four years of regular use.
NFC is a feature of the Realme GT Neo 5, which runs Android 13 under Realme UI 4.0. On the back of the Realme phone is an RGB LED rectangle that can be fully customised for various apps and serves as a notification light. It will also glow red and provide a customizable notification when the battery is less than 20%.
White, Black, and Purple are the three colours available for the phone, and each of them includes at least one model with both charging choices. The 16GB/256GB and 16GB/1TB editions of the 240W model cost CNY3,199 ($470) and CNY3,499 ($515), respectively.
The Realme GT Neo 5 150W costs $368 for the entry-level 8/256GB model, $400 for the medium 12/256GB model, or $427 for the top 16/256GB model.
