Reliance has unveiled JioBook, a new laptop running on JioOS, which will be available for purchase on Amazon and Reliance Digital starting from August 5. This lightweight, 4G-enabled device is targeted towards students and offers access to educational content through the JioTV app.
JioBook boasts a sleek matte finish and weighs just 990 grams. It is equipped with the MediaTek MT 8788 processor and features an 11.6-inch anti-glare HD screen. With 4GB RAM and 64GB storage (expandable up to 256GB via microSD card), the laptop provides ample space for users.
The keyboard spans from one edge to the other, accompanied by a spacious trackpad that supports gestures. Additionally, JioBook comes with JioBIAN, a Linux-based coding software that supports various programming languages like Perl, Python, Java, C/C++, and more.
For enhanced functionality, users receive 100GB of free cloud storage on Digiboxx, one year of Quick Heal antivirus protection with parental controls, and access to cloud gaming via JioGames. Furthermore, the JioBook incorporates over 75 shortcuts from Windows, making it user-friendly for those transitioning from a Windows-based machine.
The laptop is equipped with an HD webcam, supports wireless scanning and printing, and can be connected to an external display. On the connectivity front, it offers 2 USB ports, 1 mini-HDMI port, a headphone jack, Bluetooth 5.0, 4G, and dual-band Wi-Fi. Powered by a 4,000mAh battery, the device is claimed to provide up to 8 hours of usage and includes stereo speakers.
The JioBook is priced at Rs 16,499 and will be available for purchase from August 5 through Amazon and Reliance Digital stores.
