S8UL dominates India qualifiers again; set to be nation’s sole representative at Pokemon UNITE World Championship 2024 with $500,000 prize pool

Having represented the nation at last year’s world championship, S8UL will once again be vying for glory at the third edition of the tournament in Honolulu, Hawaii from August 18-20

 S8UL, the country’s leading Esports and gaming content organization, emerged victorious in the India qualifiers of Pokémon UNITE World Championship 2024 to clinch the nation’s sole spot for the third edition of the tournament. This marks S8UL’s consecutive appearance at the highly anticipated global event which boasts a substantial prize pool of $500,000 (approximately INR 4.17 crore) and is scheduled to take place in Honolulu, Hawaii from August 18-20.

The five-man team, led by captain Manmohan Singh (S8UL AllMight), alongside teammates Deep Patel (S8UL • Snowyy), Rudra Narayan Nayak (S8UL • Rex), Adnan Badshah (S8UL.Badshah), and Rahul Lavhate (S8UL • Kyurem), showcased unparalleled skill and teamwork to triumph against the nation’s top teams. Remaining unbeaten throughout the qualifiers, the squad secured $15,000 (approximately INR 12.5 lakhs) in prize money.

Reflecting on their victory, Mrinmoy Lahkar aka 8Bit_beg4mercy, team mentor of S8UL’s Pokemon UNITE squad, stated, “We are incredibly proud of S8UL’s exceptional performance in the India qualifiers. This group of players has consistently demonstrated their talent, and by reigning supreme against the formidable teams, has solidified its position as the nation’s top Pokémon UNITE outfit. Representing India at the World Championship again is a huge honor, and S8UL is fully committed to making our nation proud.”

S8UL kicked off their qualification journey with a comprehensive win against Team No Tilt by 2-0 in the quarterfinals, followed by another dominant 2-0 win over Six Uppermoon in the semi-finals. In the upper bracket final and grand final, S8UL faced off against Zenigame Squad, securing victory in both matches with a score of 2-1. All matches were contested in a double-elimination best-of-three format.

We understand the responsibility that comes with representing our nation, and we do not take it lightly. Having gained valuable lessons from last year’s World Championship in Yokohama, we are ready to make our mark in Honolulu this year,” commented Manmohan Singh aka S8UL AllMight, skipper of S8UL’s Pokemon UNITE team.
