Samsung’s upcoming smartphone, the Galaxy S23 FE, has been generating anticipation and is expected to launch soon. While an official announcement is still pending, the device has received certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), hinting at an imminent release in India.
The Galaxy S23 FE appeared on the BIS website with the model number SM-S711B/DS, which likely corresponds to the Indian version of the phone. Although the listing doesn’t reveal much beyond the model number, it suggests that the phone could hit the Indian market in the near future.
According to previous reports, the Galaxy S23 FE is expected to feature a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. While it’s speculated to run on the Exynos 2200 chipset, there’s a possibility that Samsung might also offer a version with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset in select markets.
The smartphone is likely to be equipped with 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and storage options of 128GB or 256GB using UFS 3.1 technology. Powering the device could be a 4,500mAh battery with support for 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. On the software side, it’s expected to come preloaded with One UI 5.1.1 based on Android 13.
In terms of its camera capabilities, the Galaxy S23 FE is anticipated to sport a new 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS). Additionally, it might include an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, likely the same sensor found in the Galaxy S21 FE. For selfies, the device is said to feature a 10MP front camera, possibly using the same sensor as the Galaxy S22 series.
