Samsung Galaxy S23 smartphones are here. Samsung’s Galaxy S series lineup for 2023 has gone on sale in India. It is the company’s most-premium series of 2023 and comprises three devices — Samsung Galaxy S23, Samsung Galaxy S23+, and Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. The South Korean smartphone brand unveiled the phones at Unpacked 2023 held in San Francisco, US, earlier this month. All three phones in the Galaxy S23 series may look quite identical to the 2022 models, but there are some notable differences. The new Samsung phones offer some firsts including the first phones in the market to come with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 which makes them very durable and rugged. Here’s all you need to know about the new Samsung phones.

Galaxy S23 Ultra comes with comparatively flatter edges as compared to S22 Ultra’s curved edge. This makes the phone easier, more boxy and easier to hold.
Come with 3D in-display fingerprint sensor
All three Galaxy S23 models come with an in-display Qualcomm 3D Sonic Sensor Gen 2 based on acoustic-based technology that identifies a user’s individual fingerprint, including unique features, for biometric authentication.
Are powered by the most powerful Android processor, ‘Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy’
All the phones in Galaxy S23 series run on custom Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy globally, ditching Samsung’s in-house Exynos chipsets. Samsung and Qualvomm claim that the exclusive version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC features overclocked CPU and GPU cores.
Galaxy S23 series has the smallest screen, S23 Ultra has the largest
Screen size is the same as the Galaxy S22 series. The Galaxy S23 is the smallest of the three with a 6.1-inch display, weighing 168 gram. The Galaxy S23+ has a 6.6-inch screen and the S23 Ultra has a 6.8-inch display. They weigh 195 gram and 234 gram respectively.

They all use Samsung’s Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-O panels with support for a maximum refresh rate of up to 120Hz and 1750 nits peak brightness.
Galaxy S23 Ultra has 200MP sensor, other two have exactly same primary camera
The Galaxy S23 Ultra has a four-camera module, with a 200-megapixel main camera, two 10-megapixel telephoto cameras and a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens. According to Samsung’s product pages, these sensors offer improved resolution, but also improve the phone’s low-light photography. The Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ have identical triple-camera setups at the back. Both include a telephoto lens, which should come handy for capturing faraway subjects. All phones can record 8K videos at 30 FPS or 4K videos at 60 FPS using the rear cameras.

The selfie camera is the same in all the three phones — 12-megapixel dual-pixel PDAF f/2.2 selfie shooter. Samsung claims it is better than Galaxy S22 series, though in terms of megapixel it is slightly lower (14MP).

This is the second time that Galaxy S Ultra phone comes with a stylus included in the box. There’s also a slot for storing it on the phone, just like Samsung’s discontinued Note series.

All three phones run on the latest Google OS, Android 13, out of the box. Samsung’s OS update record too has become impressive now. All the phones in the S23 lineup will get 4-year OS updates and 5-year security updates.
