Putting speculations at rest, South Korean giant Samsung has finally launched the 4G LTE variant of its flagship Galaxy S5 smartphone in the Indian market. The Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE (SM-G900I) smartphone is now up for grabs at a price tag of Rs 53,500.
“We are keyed up to introduce our first 4G variant of the Galaxy S5 in India with a powerful processor, dazzling display and faster connectivity for an unmatched user experience. We expect the 4G version to catch the imagination of technology enthusiasts and professionals, who demand superior smartphones for their heavy multimedia content consumption,” Asim Warsi, Vice President – Marketing, Mobile & IT, Samsung India was quoted as saying during the launch.
The original Samsung Galaxy S5 sports a 13-cm (5.1-inch) Super AMOLED Full HD display and packs a 16MP rear camera. It has a 2.1MP front camera and runs on Android 4.4 aka KitKat out of the box. The Galaxy S5 packs 2GB of RAM and 2.5GHz Snapdragon quad-core processor. It also has an IR remote, NFC, LTE, Wi-Fi, 16/ 32GB of internal storage and microSD card slot. The Galaxy S5 comes with a fingerprint scanner that is included in the home-button of the phone. Samsung allows as many as three fingerprints, that can be setup in the phone right now but the future updates are expected to include support for more. Samsung has also packed a heart-rate monitor in the phone. Like the trend is, the Galaxy S5 is also a water and dust-resistant device.
Samsung has used Android 4.4 along with a toned-down version of Tocuhwiz. It has also skip fairly a few S-apps those were present in the previous Galaxies.
