Samsung surprises its users yet again with fresh and practical features on their flagship smartphones. The latest update in August for the Galaxy S23’s Camera and Gallery App comes with intriguing enhancements and modifications. Among the significant changes are the introduction of the crop zoom function and the optimization of multiple camera aspects, aimed at elevating the quality and usability of both the Camera and the Gallery App.

Several updates have been implemented, encompassing novel features, optimizations, and enhancements. Developers have refined the performance when transitioning between the gallery and camera applications. Notably, the Crop Zoom feature has been integrated, enabling optical lens-level image excellence by cropping high-resolution sensor images. Additionally, the video Super Steady mode on the Galaxy S23 Ultra now showcases a 2x zoom icon. Users can incorporate this icon by navigating to Camera Assistant > Crop Zoom (Optical Quality Crop Zoom).

The portrait video mode effects have also undergone an update, boosting the frame rate of effects like Big Circle, Color Point, and Glitch from 24fps to 30fps. The AI deep learning-based Zoom image quality enhancement feature, initially seen in the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5/Flip 5, has now been extended to the Galaxy S23 series.

A multitude of features have been optimized, such as blur refinement for regular photos utilizing a 50/200MP sensor, improved file size for motion photos, heightened motion blur, and more. Additionally, the update enhances the authenticity of facial tones in selfie mode on the front camera photo mode.

Notably, the overall camera performance has also received improvements, enabling users to swiftly switch between different modes. While the update is currently accessible in South Korea, users in other regions can check for Camera and Gallery App updates via the Galaxy Store.
