Sony has launched SmartWatch 3 at IFA 2014 Berlin which is Sony’s first smartwatch to run on Google’s Android Wear software. It’s not a conservative fitness device but as reports say avid runners will love this device for sure.
It’s a waterproof watch which is priced at $229 or $300 and it has pre-loaded sensors including accelerometer, compass and gyroscope for tracking your motion. Its built-in GPS makes this device a stand-alone which is highly useful for runners and joggers who want to track their routes. Sony claims that the SmartWatch which has a 4.06-cm (1.6-inch) display will be visible in bright sunlight too as its transflective, making it optimal for outdoor use.
Sony’s SmartWatch 3 is designed to work with LifeLog platform which helps track your daily activity. It presents a digital timeline telling you where you were when you clicked a particular photo. The watch will be available in black and lime this fall. Sony has promised that pink and white wristbands will be available very soon. It maintains a square design while other smartwatch manufacturers like LH and Motorola are experimenting with round displays. But SmartWatch 3 is undoubtedly outdoor-friendly because of its display and built-in GPS features.
