The devices now recieve an all new user interface inspired by the the company’s trademark PlayStation 4.
Sony has started rolling out the latest Android 4.4 KitKat updates for its Xperia E1 and Xperia E1 Dual smartphones respectively. Both the devices firstly came with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box when launched earlier in March this year. The company took to its official blog to make the formal announcement.
The recent updates bring along the usual sack of changes you’d expect when migrating from Jelly Bean to KitKat OS. In addition, the udpates bring along a tweaked Status Bar along with a Quick Settings option therein. The devices now recieve an all new user interface inspired by the the company’s trademark PlayStation 4: this includes a sleeker launch animation as well as live wallpaper across both the lock and the home screens.
The updates also bring along the much-needed option to move apps from internal memory to SD card. With that said, native app including Messaging, Smart Connect, TrackID, Sony Select, Battery Stamina Mode, Walkman etc will also be updated to their latest update now. Sony Select will now allow users to gain full access to Xperia Themes and downloadable UI packs, after the recent updates.
The Sony Xperia E1 features a 10.16-cm (4-inch) WVGA display with a 480×800 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 (MSM8210) processor coupled with 512MB of RAM. It sports a 3MP rear camera and comes with 4GB of inbuilt storage flexible up to 32GB via micro-SD. It decks in a 1,700mAh battery. The Xperia E1 Dual comes with similar stipulation with the only difference being that it supports dual-SIM.
