Sony Xperia Z1 Compact With Android 4.3 Launched At Rs 36,990

The much-awaited, mini-variant of Sony’s flagship Xperia Z1 smartphone is officially launched in India at a cost price of Rs 36,990. Sony reportedly listed the Xperia Z1 Compact on the company’s official online store. While the phone is listed, Sony has not confirmed over the availability of the smartphone in India.

sony_xperia_compact_officialThe Sony Xperia Z1 Compact is powered by Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box and is made by a single aluminium frame with tempered glass on the back and front panels. The phone features a 10.9-cm (4.3-inch) Triluminos HD (720×1280) display with X-Reality for Mobiles. It comes with a 16GB internal storage and expandable memory of up to 64GB via microSD card.

The Z1 Compact has 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974) processor with 2GB of RAM, like the Xperia Z1. It also has 20.7-megapixel Exmor RS sensor alongside BIONZ image processor engine with LED flash. The smartphone includes a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, as well. For connectivity options, it includes Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/ GLONASS and NFC. The Xperia Z1 Compact has a 2300mAh battery with STAMINA mode and is waterproof and dust-proof, like other elite Xperia smartphones.

Sony launched the Xperia Z1 Compact at the Consumer Electronics Show 2014, with the Xperia Z1S. Z1S is a full-sized Xperia Z1-variant, which is exclusive to T-Mobile in the US. Sony is likley to soon release the new version of the Xperia Tablet Z, which was launched at the MWC 2013
