Following the release of the OnePlus 11 earlier this year, OnePlus is already hard at work on its successor, the OnePlus 12. According to a reliable source, the OnePlus 12 is expected to debut in China in December, with the global launch likely to follow in the subsequent weeks or months.
The current iteration of the OnePlus 12 is in its engineering sample stage, revealing some key specifications. It will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and boast a 6.7-inch QHD OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. The device will also house a sizable 5,000 mAh battery capable of supporting 100W fast wired charging.
In terms of camera capabilities, the OnePlus 12 is set to feature an impressive triple-camera setup on the rear. This includes a 50 MP primary camera, a 50 MP ultrawide lens, and a groundbreaking 64 MP periscope zoom camera. While the periscope zoom camera is a first for OnePlus, it’s worth noting that parent company Oppo has already ventured into this territory. However, aside from these camera upgrades, there doesn’t appear to be much excitement on the hardware front at first glance. The display size, resolution, and refresh rate remain unchanged from its predecessor, and the integration of the next-generation Snapdragon chip is expected.
As the launch of the OnePlus 12 draws closer, we anticipate more details to emerge, shedding light on additional features and improvements. OnePlus enthusiasts will be eagerly awaiting any new developments that set the OnePlus 12 apart from its predecessor and the competition.
