Home grown manufacturer has launched a new 3G enabled Android smartphone in the Indian market. The Spice Stellar 445 smartphone will be available for grabs at a price tag of Rs 5,299 starting the first week of July.

The Spice Stellar 445 features a 10.16-cm (4-inch) WVGA display with a 480×800 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon (unspecified chipset) processor coupled with 512MB of RAM. It sports a 3.2MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front-facing camera. It comes with 4GB of inbuilt storage expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. The dual-SIM device runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box. Connectivity options include: 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPRS/EDGE and A-GPS. It decks in a 1500mAh battery.

“This is the first 10.16 cm smartphone from Spice with a quad-core processor that enables multitasking and faster speed. The idea to empower every Indian through their smartphones has been our engine of growth and we have been working towards it by proliferating data services through our 3G enabled handsets.” T M Ramakrishnan, CEO, Devices, Spice Retail Ltd was quoted as saying during the launch.
