Prateek: Please tell us about the journey of Ekin.
Sundeep Tambi: While most entrepreneurs start a business with some investment, unfortunately/fortunately we started with No investment. As was having no choice left after losing everything in the turmoil of the last company. YES, we had 20 years of vast experience, vision to do something extraordinary, hardworking, and honesty. We capitalized on the same and re-started our journey with a vision to be in the top 3 brands of India into the domain of SMART Class/ Virtual Class and Video conference.
After 4 years of hard work, we have a footprint in the East and north markets. Offices at Kolkata and Jaipur. Franchise at Pryagraj, Ranchi and Siliguri.
Can claim to be the top 3 brands in these locations.
Our customers include IIT Mandi, IIT Jodhpur, IIT Delhi, IIM Kolkata, NIT Rourkela, Big coaching centers like Allen, Resonance, etc. It shows our hard work and quality solutions.
Prateek: What according to you will be the dominating trends in the industry?
Sundeep Tambi: Simple and easy-to-operate solution would dominate the industry. As the industry is no more limited to be the expertise of few people. Corona has pushed us to the Virtual World and a good number of solutions shall evolve around it. Hybrid classrooms, recording, and streaming rooms are the buzzwords that shall stay for a few years.
Vocal for Local initiative by govt would help local quality players to show their strength.
We would see a good number of Indian brands coming with quality solutions and services.
Prateek: What will be the organization’s strategy for marketing and expansion?
Sundeep Tambi: We shall be Slow and steady. We shall be focusing on creating profit-making Franchises across major cities in India. This is a proven model for us and we shall continue on same.
We are planning 3 more franchises in the next financial year.
Ekin does have a reasonably good presence in the digital space. We are planning to increase the size of the backend team.
As we are growing, expectations of customers are increasing. As a brand, we need to keep improving. We have invested hugely into the certification of all our products.
At present we have a small facility of assembly in India. We would be having a large and professional assembly/manufacturing setup in the coming 2 years.
Prateek: Which product brings the most traction for Ekin?
Sundeep Tambi: We have 12 different types of VC cameras. We have an installation base of our Camera into Virtual class, Video conference, recording studio.
Ekin Voice tracking camera, Auto framing camera, and PTX camera are appreciated everywhere against major brands in India.

Prateek: What are your views on the ‘Make in India’ initiative by the Government of India?
Sundeep Tambi: It could be considered as the most welcome initiative by Govt. A small brand like us would be benefited. Although it is just starting and would take a few years to reach the goal. This push by govt would help every Indian in long term.
