Tata Power Solar, a solar EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) services supplier in India, specially made a 2 MW rooftop panel in Palladam in Tirupur, Tamil Nadu. It is one of the largest rooftop panel in South India, according to the report from a company.
The rooftop system, built on top of existing spinning mills and warehouse, is spread across three buildings with 800 KW on a single building. The plant would help to displace about 2,500 tonnes of carbon dioxide per annum, statement added.
It is designed for captive consumption and connected with a grid through a dedicated feeder at 11KW. The next part of the first phase of 3 MW project and work on 1 MW of second phase will begin next year.
