Lava’s latest offering, the Blaze 2, is set to be launched soon in collaboration with Amazon India. This is the sequel to last year’s Blaze and boasts of several upgrades. The phone’s special launch offer is priced at ₹9,000, after which the regular price will be ₹11,000.
One of the most significant improvements is the chipset, which now features a Unisoc T616. This chipset has two Cortex-A75 cores and six A55s, and a Mali-G57 MP1. Lava claims that this makes it the most powerful phone in its segment with an AnTuTu 9.5.5 score of over 250K. The RAM has also doubled to 6GB, and the storage capacity is now 128GB, which can be expanded up to 1TB using a microSD card. However, the phone still runs on Android 12 out of the box, which may be considered outdated by some.
The phone’s display has also received an upgrade with a 6.5″ IPS LCD with HD+ resolution (20:9) and a 90Hz refresh rate. The fingerprint reader has been moved to the side, and unlocking the phone takes just 0.383 seconds. The battery has also received an upgrade with an 18W charge rating, which takes around 2 hours 9 minutes to charge fully. The battery lasts for 8 hours of YouTube playback.
The Lava Blaze 2’s camera setup remains the same as its predecessor, with a 13MP main module, a 2MP helper, and LED flash on the back, and an 8MP camera on the front with a punch-hole display.
In conclusion, the Lava Blaze 2 is a significant improvement over its predecessor, with the new chipset being the most notable upgrade. It is a good phone for its price point and boasts several features that make it stand out. The Lava Free Service @ Home offer ensures that if anything goes wrong with the phone, a technician will come to the customer’s doorstep to resolve the issue, subject to terms and conditions. The phone will be available on Amazon and Lava’s online store starting from April 18th.
