The Galaxy Z Fold 5 comes with enhanced video recording capabilities similar to those found in the Galaxy S23

While the Galaxy Z Fold 5 may not seem to present significant advancements on paper compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 4, it follows a pattern similar to the improvements seen in the Galaxy S23 over the Galaxy S22.

One of these enhancements is in video recording quality. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 supports 8K video recording at 30fps, an improvement over the Galaxy Z Fold 4’s 8K video recording at 24fps. This higher frame rate contributes to smoother and more fluid videos.

Additionally, the Super Steady video recording mode has been enhanced, resulting in better video quality due to a higher resolution. Like the Galaxy S23, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 can capture ultra-stabilized videos in QHD resolution and at 60fps.

This marks a significant upgrade from the Galaxy Z Fold 4, which was limited to 1080p resolution in its Super Steady mode. As a result, videos recorded using the Super Steady mode on the Galaxy Z Fold 5 should appear sharper and more detailed compared to its predecessor.

The improvements in video recording can largely be attributed to the utilization of the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy chip in Samsung’s latest foldable devices. This chip incorporates a more robust Image Signal Processor (ISP), which can handle a greater volume of data processing compared to the ISP in the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip.

Numerous reviews have already highlighted the Galaxy S23’s excellent 8K video recording capabilities, as well as its ability to produce ultra-stabilized videos comparable to those from the iPhone 14 Pro series.

It is reasonable to expect that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will provide a similar level of quality in terms of 8K and Super Steady videos. Even the Galaxy Z Flip 5 can record Super Steady videos in QHD resolution, although it is capped at 30fps.
