OnePlus is gearing up for the launch of its latest addition to the Ace series, the Ace 2 Pro, in China. The official unveiling is scheduled for August 16, 2023, at 2 PM local time. The device is anticipated to share a design similar to the previously released OnePlus Ace 2.
As per a recent teaser, the upcoming Ace 2 Pro smartphone is poised to achieve a notable feat as the world’s first mass-produced device to incorporate 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM. The device will also boast 1TB of UFS 4.0 flash storage.
SK Hynix will be responsible for producing the RAM, and OnePlus has revealed that the Ace 2 Pro will utilize “Memory Gene Recombination” technology. This technology is expected to deliver efficient memory usage and quicker data read performance, enabling 41 apps to run in the background for up to 72 hours. TÜV Rheinland has provided certification for the phone’s smooth performance over a span of 48 months.
While the ZTE Nubia’s RedMagic 8S Pro+ introduced a similar configuration of 24GB/1TB, it has yet to be released for sale. Moreover, there are reports of Realme also planning to launch a smartphone with 24GB of RAM.
Regarding other specifications, OnePlus has already confirmed that the Ace 2 Pro will be powered by the robust Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. It will feature a 6.74-inch 120Hz 1.5K OLED display with HDR10+ support and a density of 450 ppi.
The smartphone will operate on Android 13, offering RAM options of 24GB, 12GB, and 16GB. It will be backed by a 5000mAh battery and an impressive 150W GaN charger that can achieve a full charge in just 17 minutes. The device will be available in Cyan and Grey color options.
As the launch date draws nearer, more leaks and details are expected to emerge, so stay tuned for further updates.
