Dream Game Studios, a subsidiary of Dream11 parent company Dream Sports, has launched its first mobile game, Dream Cricket 2024, in India and Pakistan. The mobile cricket game is currently available in open beta on the Google Play Store for Android users, with an iOS version in development. This launch coincides with Dream Sports facing significant retrospective goods and services tax (GST) claims related to its flagship fantasy sports platform, Dream11.
Dream Cricket 2024 features realistic gameplay, voice commentary, 3D graphics, and is described as one of the most advanced AAA mobile games to come out of India. Users can play as different international teams in a World Cup event and participate in various cricket leagues, with the ability to control every shot and ball. The game also showcases 3D realistic faces of current and former Indian and international cricket players, as well as iconic stadiums.
In addition, Dream Cricket 2024 will include a ‘Play with Friends’ mode and a new cricket World Cup game mode. India’s gaming sector is maturing, with the industry showing significant growth in revenue and users. The mobile and PC gaming revenue in India is projected to reach $868 million in 2023, with expected growth to $1.58 billion by 2027.
