The Samsung Galaxy S24 series, expected to be unveiled on January 17, may feature a mix of Samsung’s Exynos 2400 SoC and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC depending on the region, according to recent reports. Leaks had initially suggested that the Indian variants of the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ would run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, but a recent report contradicts this, claiming that the Indian variants will actually be powered by the Exynos 2400 SoC. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in all markets.
The Svctechinfo report indicates that the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ models in India will be equipped with the Exynos 2400 SoC, while the Galaxy S24 Ultra will run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 across all regions. The Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ models in the US and Canada are also expected to feature the Snapdragon chipset. Last year’s Galaxy S23 family utilized the custom Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy globally.
Furthermore, the report provides insights into the color options for each model. The Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ are anticipated to be available in amber yellow, cobalt violet, onyx black, and marble gray. The Galaxy S24 Ultra, on the other hand, is reported to come in titanium black, titanium gray, titanium violet, and titanium yellow.
The Galaxy S24 series is scheduled to be unveiled at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event on January 17, with pre-bookings already underway in India.
Several specifications for the Galaxy S24 family have been leaked, suggesting they will run on Android 14-based One UI 6.1 with generative AI-powered features. The models are expected to feature AMOLED LTPO displays with up to a 120Hz refresh rate. The Galaxy S24 Ultra may include a 200-megapixel quad-camera setup, while the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ could feature 50-megapixel triple-camera units. RAM configurations are speculated to include 8GB for the regular Galaxy S24, and 8GB or 12GB for the higher-end models.
Battery capacities are reported to be 4,000mAh for the regular Galaxy S24, 4,900mAh for the Galaxy S24+, and 5,000mAh for the Galaxy S24 Ultra. More details about the devices are likely to be revealed during the official announcement on January 17.
